BCH Mechanical is at the forefront of 3-D CAD coordination and has been for over 10 years. By rendering full 3-D coordinated drawings for our sheet metal and piping, we can build a project in “virtual space”. We can then obtain the coordination drawings from the other trades and completely coordinate in the 3rd dimension, utilizing Navisworks software.
PREFABRICATION
A key component of this process is prefabrication. BCH Mechanical has long offered an advantage to clients through our automated sheet metal shop and through our ability to fabricate and fully assemble duct systems in a controlled shop environment, saving countless field hours. This process saves the project time, money, and a lot of the sheet metal noise that was prevalent in the old days.
Our piping prefabrication continues to advance with our ability to prefabricate entire chiller plants, unit connections, plumbing battery units, and entire assemblies. Virtually anything that can be repeated and/or completed in advance can be done so in a controlled environment. A current project, Mease CUP, has been fully designed and coordinated in 3-D with all of the other trades. A large portion of the piping system is prefabricated, tagged, and waiting to be transported to the project site for installation. All of the prefabrication was performed at BCH Mechanical, in a controlled environment and will eliminate hundreds of field man hours.
Ask a member of the BCH team for information about how we can coordinate your next project in 3-D and prefabricate the equipment and systems before we step foot on the construction site. Better yet, consider BCH for your next design build contract and we can virtually design the project the first time, saving you valuable time and money.
