Bay Linen is a private company providing laundry services for Bay Care hospitals and multiple other hospital groups across Tampa Bay. They chose BCH to perform the design/build installation of a completely new air condition system to serve over 75 percent of the facility.
The project consisted of installing multiple equipment platforms to house the air handling units. The equipment platforms were no small undertaking as they had to be sized to not only accommodate large air handling units, but they also had to house electric filter media rolls to provide constant filtration changes due to the large amount of lint in the space and had to provide ample space for service.
A unique system of ductwork was installed to provide the conditioned air in the areas it was most needed. Large condensing units were located outside of the building on concrete pads. Extensive refrigerant piping systems were routed to each of the air handling units from the condensing units.
