Just a friendly reminder – If you see something, say something.
Thank you all for your dedication so far this year when it comes to reporting near misses. Without your sharing, we would not have the information needed to focus on continuous safety improvement. Please continue to always keep safety on your mind and share near misses frequently.
A near miss is an incident that could have resulted in injury, death, or property damage–but didn’t. Anyone who has thought, “that was a close call!”, has had a near miss. Learn to recognize when you have had one and report it.
Report near misses because:
- A near miss is a warning that a hazard exists.
- A near miss one time could be an injury incident the next time.
- Reports of near misses can lead to improved work methods and safety procedures.
Have you witnessed a near miss? Don’t ignore it, report it!
